Week 8 of the South Dakota high school football season has arrived and along with it, the countdown to the end of the regular season.

A couple of area Class 11B and nine-man teams will play their regular-season finales this week with the rest set to follow next week. Those classes will begin playoffs on Oct. 23, the same night that the state's Class 11AAA, AA and A teams will play their regular-season finales.
