Authorities in both Meghalaya and Assam have imposed night curfews along the inter-state border following a violent clash on Thursday that left one youth dead and several others injured. The curfew was enforced in Lapangap village under Meghalaya’s West Jaintia Hills district and Tapata area under Assam’s West Karbi Anglong district as a preventive measure to contain further unrest.
