LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A Southern Nevada man shared his story with 8 News Now after he survived a gunshot wound to the head.

"It was right below my ear," Amadyus Pope said, referencing his bullet wound. "And it came out right here."

Pope walked 8 News Now through the moment he said a bullet went through his jaw.

"With stuff like this," Pope said. "You have more of a likelihood of dying than surviving."

According to the man, 22, the injury stemmed from an argument with his roommate that escalated to a fist fight, which then ended with gunfire in North Las Vegas last week.

"When he shot me, I was spitting teeth out," Pope, who was wearing a neck brace, explained. "I was spitting bones and blood, and I thought my whole face was gone at first." • A Southern Nevada man shared his story with
