Srinagar, Oct 10: Joint teams of security forces on Friday recovered the body of a second missing Army commando from the dense Gadool forests of Kokernag in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, where a massive search operation has been underway for the past four days.
Officials confirmed that the body was found during an intensified combing operation in the rugged and densely forested area — the centre of one of the most challenging manhunts in recent times.
The recovery comes a day after the body of another elite paratrooper from the Army’s 7 Para (Special Forces) unit was retrieved from the same forested zone. Both commandos had gone missing during an anti-terror operation launched following credible intelligence inputs about the presence of foreign terrorists in the area.
