MENIFEE — The Moreno Valley football team came into Heritage High School and made it their own, playing a lights out game from start to finish and earning a 34-0 victory in an Inland Valley League game Thursday night.

Moreno Valley quarterback Syree Matthews completed 11 of 18 passes for 170 yards, rushed for 40 yards and accounted for two touchdowns.

Wide receiver Johnny Robinson finished with 102 yards and a touchdown, Jahsiah Sio had 64 rushing yards and a touchdown and Trevon Williams finished with a touchdown and 50 yards on the ground.

“We were playing hungry,” Moreno Valley coach Ben Benitez said. “We had a different look in our eyes today…They played really fast, really strong and really hard. And we’re on a mission, three more games (left in the regular season).”
