Russian forces fired over 450 drones and 30 missiles across Ukraine overnight, killing one and injuring more than 20 people, Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram Friday morning.

He said the overnight Russian attack claimed the life of one child in Zaporizhzhia.

Electricity supply was disrupted in at least nine regions of the country, including the capital, Zelenskyy said.

“Civilian and energy infrastructure are the main targets of Russian strikes ahead of the heating season. Together we can protect people from this terror," Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram.

Ukraine's biggest electricity operator, DTEK, reported damage to multiple thermal plants.

The company provided no additional details, saying only that repair works were currently underway.

Meanwhile, the head of Zaporizhzhia's regional administration, Ivan Fedorov, shared more details, saying a 7-year-old boy was killed in the city overnight, with five people sustaining injuries.

He said traffic across the huge Dnipro hydroelectric power plant, Ukraine’s largest, that connects two banks of the city, was limited due to the overnight attack.

Twenty residential buildings were also damaged in Zaporizhzhia, he added.
