Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on October 10 launched a scathing attack on Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, ridiculing him over his remarks on the distribution of mustard oil to ration card holders in the state and accusing the Congress of engaging in “low-level politics.”
Addressing a public gathering in Dibrugarh, Sarma said, “This morning, I was doing some research on what people in England eat, and I found out that they use sunflower oil. Gaurav Gogoi’s children live in England and are British citizens — that’s why he doesn’t know the value of mustard oil. If we talk about sunflower oil, he might understand.”
Taking a further dig at the Congress, the Chief Minister added, “The Congress, which once fought against the British, is now following in their footsteps.”
