MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that took place in a Murfreesboro neighborhood Thursday night.

According to the Murfreesboro Police Department, officers were sent to the 1000 block of North Academy Street to respond to a shooting at approximately 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9.

At the scene, a woman who claimed to be the mother of the victim told News 2 that she believes the shooting involves a case of mistaken identity.
