Late Friday night in Week 7 of the 2025 college football season gifts fans a treat of Big Ten action out on the West Coast as the conference flexes its geographic muscles.

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights (3-2, 0-2 Big Ten) are making the cross-country trip out to Seattle to take on the Washington Huskies (4-1, 1-1 Big Ten) in a game both teams need to continue their hunt for a postseason bowl berth.

This is what Rutgers does. They come out of the gates hot in non-conference play, trick everyone into thinking they could be different, then the Big Ten slate starts, and right around Halloween, they truly turn into a pumpkin.

The Scarlet Knights have dropped their last two in conference play, letting Iowa and Minnesota rack up points and yards on them. They allowed Iowa to churn out 346 total yards and hang up 38 points, while Minnesota threw for 324 yards and scored 31.

That is a bad sign when Washington is next up. Demond Williams Jr. and the Huskies' offense is better than Iowa's and Rutgers'. Wideouts Denzel Boston and Dezmen Roebuck should have chances to get free against a suspect Rutgers' secondary, and Jonah Coleman, who averages 5.8 yards on the ground, should have holes all game long.

The matchup is bad for Rutgers, and then toss in a cross-country road trip for a kickoff at 9 p.m. for their body clocks, and it is too much.
