A monarch butterfly has a second chance at life after New York City veterinarians repaired its damaged wing with an innovative transplant procedure.

According to Janine Bendicksen, director of wildlife rehabilitation at the Sweetbriar Nature Center in Smithtown, N.Y., the patient was brought to the facility by a resident named Dagmar Hoffdavis, according to CBS News .
