BURLINGTON, N.C. — A McDonald’s employee has been charged with 26 counts of identity theft after police say he photographed customers’ bank cards while working the drive-thru, according to Burlington police.

The Burlington Police Department, in collaboration with the Graham Police Department, began investigating reports of bank card fraud linked to the McDonald’s at 1904 W. Webb Avenue.

Investigators determined that between Aug. 25 and Sept. 2, 2025, Jacari Davonn Bunting, 19, of Graham, took images of customers’ cards while working. Police said the information was later used for fraudulent activity.

McDonald’s management assisted with the investigation, and Bunting is no longer employed at the restaurant, police said. Bunting has been charged with 26 counts of trafficking in stolen ide
