Tamil Nadu BJP Spokesperson ANS Prasad has called upon the Tamil Nadu government to grant tax exemption to the recently released film 'Idli Kadai', starring Dhanush. Praising the work as "refreshing and value-driven cinematic work" and emphasising its alignment with "traditional values", Prasad stated that the film celebrates the culture of Tamil people, non-violence, and social harmony. 'Idli Kadai' released in theatres on October 1.

The film, which features Nithya Menen, Arun Vijay, Rajkiran, and Sathyaraj alongside Dhanush , was positioned by Prasad as notably different from the prevailing cinematic trends that he described as focusing on themes of "hatred and greed along with glorifying the usage of violence and drugs."
