President Donald Trump said he will undergo what he called a "semiannual physical" at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday -- about six months after his last physical exam.
"I'm meeting with the troops, and I'm also going to do a, sort of semiannual physical, which I do," Trump told reporters during remarks in the Oval Office on Thursday.
Trump last had a physical exam in April, also at Walter Reed.
In a statement on Wednesday, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump would visit Walter Reed, just outside Washington, D.C., in Bethesda, Maryland, "for a planned meeting and remarks with the troops" and while there he would "stop by for his routine yearly checkup."
Speaking Thursday, Trump said he felt he was in great shape.
