A Home for All, a housing initiative powered by United Way, is providing psychiatric care to those who lack access to it—unhoused people in Mecklenburg County.

Why it matters: At least 2,415 Mecklenburg County residents were counted as homeless as of April 30, according to data released today.

Wellness Without Walls is a psychiatry pilot program designed to provide mental health treatment to Mecklenburg County citizens who lack access to mental health care and require travel to a brick-and-mortar building for treatment.

The initiative, which began development in 2024, is aimed at helping unhoused adults aged 18 and older with diagnosed or undiagnosed behavioral health disorders.
