The Domestic Abuse Project of Delaware County Inc. held a vigil on the County Courthouse steps Thursday morning to recognize victims and survivors of domestic violence in the county and across the country.
“Each year, we come together for the survivor tribute and remembrance ceremony to honor those whose lives were stolen by domestic violence, to stand beside those who have survived it and to renew our shared commitment to safety, justice and healing,” said DAP Executive Director Michelle Brown. “This morning, we remember 106 Pennsylvanians who were killed in domestic violence incidents last year, including seven right here in Delaware County. Each of them had a name, a story and people who loved them. Each of them should still be with us.”
