Kōhi Time owner Genella Izumi opens new coffee counter on Broadway

Kōhi Time ’s Genelle Izumi has been collecting Godzilla figurines since she was a kid. Now, they have a new place to call home.

Her kaijus are lined tallest to shortest on the top shelf of the display case in her new brick-and-mortar coffee counter on Broadway. They are joined by Neko Nekos, her father’s trophies from his bakery chain, and other ephemera that fill the space with cozy character. Decadent smells of banana and cinnamon waft out of the small shop and onto the street, beckoning students and commuters inside to try Izumi’s quirky coffee creations.
