CANNON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A neighborhood near Rockford is hosting a trick-or-treating event this weekend that's accessible for for kids with mobility, sensory and neurological disabilities.

"The event is open to everyone — kids and parents, with and without disabilities — and it is completely free," Curtis Gross, a neighbor who helped bring the idea to life, wrote in an email to News 8.

It's scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 12, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Old Mission Drive NE and Danboro Avenue NE in Cannon Township.

You can expect to find "a safe, easy-to-navigate route with treats handed out from driveways and accessible paths," with volunteers present to help out, according to Gross. The curbside trick-or-treating experience is intended to eliminate common barriers like stairs.
