JAMESTOWN — The Bison World Fund has investors who want to fund about half of the bison-themed cultural and entertainment park in Jamestown, but they are still seeking financial support for the project from the state before they make their investments, according to one official.

“We have investment bankers that want to do half of the capital,” said David Haukaas, adviser for the nonprofit organization working on the project. “They come in with debt. They are not going to be the first money in because they don’t want to pay themselves with their own money.”

Haukaas said tourist projects either get initial funding from a really wealthy person or the government.
