The daughter of a woman killed in a mass shooting in downtown Montgomery is seeking help with her mother’s burial.

Shalanda Williams, 43, left behind three children – a 24-year-old daughter, a 6-year-old son and a 3-year-old daughter.

“My mom was not just my parent, but also my best friend, my biggest supporter and my safe place in this world,” Tykeria Mays wrote in a GoFundMe.

“Her passing has left me heartbroken and also facing the heavy responsibility of trying cover the costs of her funeral and additional expenses that life brings,” Mays wrote. “As much as I wish I could do this on my own, I cannot.”

Williams and 17-year-old Jeremiah Morris, a standout student at Rise Academy, were killed in the Saturday night shooting that wounded 12 others, five of them critically.
