Police are appealing for information after an aggravated burglary at a Sainsbury's store in Stockton.

Officers were called at 7.20pm on Thursday, October 9, to the Sainsbury's Local shop on Marske Parade in the Bishopsgarth area. A man reportedly demanded cash from the till before making off.

An investigation has been launched into the incident. Police were seen at the store, which was closed while inquiries were carried out.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "At 7.20pm on Thursday, October 9, police were called to a supermarket on Marske Parade in Stockton following reports of an aggravated burglary. A man has entered the store and demanded money from inside the till.

"He left with a quantity of cash." She said police inquires are "currently ongoing".
