GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (PIX11) – New York State DMV employees are among seven people accused of running a cheating ring to get CDL permits for no-show applicants, the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office announced on Thursday.
Sisters Jamie and Kanaisha Middleton, along with DMV employees Satoya Mitchell and Tawana Whitfield, Town of Hempstead employees James Nurse and Rene Sarduy and CDL applicant Omesh Mohan were charged in a 51-count indictment, according to District Attorney Anne Donnelly.
Prosecutors alleged that Jamie Middleton, the sister of former DMV supervisor Kanaisha Middleton, would show up to the office in disguise as a man and take the tests for potential truck drivers between March 2023 to September 2023.
