ANN ARBOR, MI - Probably the most underrated part of Ann Arbor is the area around Costco. Seriously, hear me out.

First, there’s Costco. It provides me with copious free samples and my entire wardrobe of sweatpants. When I want something a little fancier, I wait for a warehouse sale at State and Liberty across the street in the business plaza.

But the best part is Zingerman’s suite of side stores in that same plaza near Airport Road. When I want freshly baked challah bread, I go to Zingerman’s Bakehouse. I can wash it down with an excellent tea latte at Zingerman’s Coffee Company next door.

Then there’s the cheese and ice cream delights that come from the creamery. As our business reporter William Diep detailed, it no longer holds the Zingerman’s name, as its owner Arend Elston renamed
