Expect flowing capes, top hats and black gowns galore, as horror fans flock to the Orpheum Theater on All Saints Day for a memorial celebration of the life of New Orleans novelist Anne Rice, who died in 2021 at age 80 . The COVID pandemic prevented a public memorial at the time.
The evening event will be hosted by Rice’s son, Christopher, and longtime collaborator Eric Shaw Quinn.
The centerpiece of the memorial will feature an advance screening of a new documentary covering the life of the author who helped define vampires for a generation.
Born in New Orleans, Rice published more than 40 books in her 45-year career. She was best-known for her work in the gothic horror genre, but also covered historic and religious subjects as well, reportedly selling more than 150 million copies wor
