KANSAS, Okla. (KFOR) - According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, a third person has been arrested in a 2014 cold case.
Officials say on May 15, 2014, deputies with the Delaware County Sheriff's Office received a missing persons report regarding 20-year-old Dustin Carver. He was last seen at a home in Kansas, Oklahoma.
The OSBI served a search warrant at the property where they found human remains in a burn pile.
In July 2025, the Clinton County Sheriff's Office in Missouri reached out to the Delaware County Sheriff's Office about possible leads in Carver's death. Information had come from an inmate in the Clinton County Jail, 42-year-old James Merritt Larson Jr.
According to the OSBI, both Larson Jr. and 40-year-old Penny Larson were allegedly involved in Carver's death.
