Around four million pensioners won't receive Winter Fuel Payments this year because they are deemed to be too wealthy.

New qualifying rules are in place for winter 2025/26 determining who will get the payments worth up to £300.

The cash used to be universal for all pensioners but that is no longer the case.

Retirees will not qualify for the payments this year if they have annual incomes above £35,000.
