An Atlantic City man who admitted running a crack cocaine operation out of an Absecon motel room last year was sentenced to ten years in prison Tuesday, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.
Darryl Murphy, 46, pleaded guilty in June to possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, maintaining a drug production facility and certain persons not to possess weapons.
Murphy must serve five years before become parole eligible.
The High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force searched Murphy's motel room Aug. 20, 2024, and found more than a half-ounce of cocaine, baking soda commonly used to cook crack cocaine, a glass measuring cup, a knife with cocaine residue on it, a scale and several empty baggies, the Prosecutor's Office said Tuesday in a news release.
