For the second time in a week, the S.S. Badger announced it has canceled a scheduled Lake Michigan crossing because of predicted high waves and gale-force winds on the lake.
On Thursday night, Oct. 9, Lake Michigan CarFerry said that today's crossing was canceled.
"For the safety and comfort of our passengers, based on the marine weather forecast, Lake Michigan Carferry (LMC) has cancelled the Friday, October 10, Ludington, MI (9:00 am EST) and the Manitowoc, WI (2:00 pm CST) crossings of the SS Badger. The Lake Michigan weather forecast is predicting gale force wind conditions with waves building from 7 – 10 feet and occasionally to 13," the company said.
The ferry service said lake conditions will make it impossible to deliver "exceptional and comfortable" service.
