BOSTON (WWLP) - The Massachusetts Department of Game's Division of Marine Fisheries and Massachusetts Environmental Trust announced an online auction of 20 low-number striped bass specialty license plates, set to begin on Wednesday.

The auction aims to raise funds and awareness for the conservation of striped bass, a popular and iconic saltwater species in Massachusetts. Proceeds will support various conservation efforts, including research, habitat restoration, and angler education.

Massachusetts boasts one of the largest striped bass fisheries in the country, with these fish being a favorite among anglers for their size and the challenge they present. Striped bass are typically found in Massachusetts waters from May to November.
