A spirited comeback late in the third period wasn’t enough for the Sarnia Legionnaires to get their first win Thursday.
The Legionnaires scored three unanswered goals in the final nine minutes before losing to the Komoka Kings 5-4 in front of 780 fans at Pat Stapleton Arena.
Grady Jalbert, Briar Dickson, Ty Therrien and Sarvir Jaworski scored for the Legionnaires, who are 0-9-0-0 in the Greater Ontario Hockey League. Andrew Gaulton made 30 saves.
The loss was the Legionnaires’ closest of the season. They’d lost by at least three in every other game.
Port Lambton’s Brock Lane made 32 saves in the Kings’ net.
Morgan Paine, Colsen Joyce, Quinn Gavin-White, Jesse Debruyn and Kingston Powell scored for the 5-1 lead.
