Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Transport Sniawbhalang Dhar has stated that the state government will take a call on railways only after taking all stakeholders on board.

Responding to a query on the demand for goods trains, Dhar said, “You see, we are here for the people. If people agree, there is no problem for us.”

However, he stressed that any decision on the matter would require broad consensus.

“But you see, like goods trains and railways, we have to take everybody on board only then, as a government, we will take a decision,” he added.

The Deputy CM made it clear that the decision would not be limited to any particular region, but would require agreement from all areas.
