Susan Kendall Newman, the daughter of legendary Hollywood star Paul Newman, died on Aug. 2, her family announced in an obituary Tuesday.

She died due to complications related to chronic health conditions. She was 72.

Newman was born in 1958 to her father, Paul, and his first wife, Jackie Witte. She began her career in theater, appearing in productions on and off Broadway.

She starred in Robert Zemeckis’ 1978 Beatles tribute movie “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” and had a small role in her father’s film “Slap Shot.”

Throughout her career as a producer and writer, Newman won various awards, including a Golden Globe, a Humanitas Award, and nominations for the Emmy, Peabody and Grammy Awards, according to the obituary.
