Fort Sask eco station to refuse refrigerant items at end of month

The Fort Saskatchewan Transfer and Eco Station will continue to accept items that contain refrigerant such as fridges, freezers, air conditioners and more until October 31.

Starting on November 1 and running through to April 5, 2026, these items will not be accepted at the station.

The cold weather of the winter does not allow for safe refrigerant removal, and as such, the station cannot safely dispose of these products.

In the meantime, these items can be taken to the Edmonton Waste Management Centre, or they can be stored until the items will be accepted again on April 6, 2026.
