BILLINGS — Junior linebacker Jack Ryan made the play of the night and the Billings West defense once again stood strong in a 20-13 victory over Gallatin in Eastern AA football Thursday at Wendy’s Field at Daylis Stadium.

With Gallatin knocking on the door for a touchdown at the West 3-yard line with approximately 16 seconds remaining in regulation, Ryan swooped in and knocked the ball loose from Raptors quarterback Samuel Litzen. Ryan also recovered the ball, and the Bears claimed their signature win of the season.

With the victory, No. 3 West (6-1 overall, 5-0 Eastern AA) moved into the driver’s seat in the race for the Eastern AA title and leads the conference with two games remaining in the regular season. No. 2 Gallatin fell to 6-1, 4-1 and is now in second place in the division.
