STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Staten Island residents will have another opportunity to safely dispose of sensitive documents at a free shredding event this Saturday, Oct. 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in West Brighton.

District Attorney Michael E. McMahon, state Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton, the Staten Island Zoo and Aurora Computer Technology are organizing the event to help protect residents from identity theft and financial fraud.

The event will take place at the Staten Island Zoo parking lot on Martling Avenue.

Attendees may choose to bring bank and credit card statements, expired identification and credit cards, medical documents, old tax returns — anything with your name, address, birthday, bank information, Social Security number, or other sensitive information that can be used to steal yo
