The Nobel Peace Prize stands among the most revered global honours, awarded yearly to individuals or organizations that have made extraordinary contributions toward peace, conflict resolution, human rights, and international fellowship. Instituted in accordance with the will of Alfred Nobel, the Swedish industrialist and inventor, the prize in peace—and the other Nobel Prizes—began in 1901.
