It was the kind of response West Feliciana’s first-year coach, Terry Minor, wanted to see.

With the home advantage, St. Michael closed to within three points midway through the third quarter. The Saints answered with a scoring drive to regain the momentum. They converted a fumble into another score 23 seconds later to cement a 35-18 victory Thursday at Warrior Stadium in District 6-4A play.

“This staff took this job in June, and we knew it would be a challenge,” Minor said. “These guys had to learn a new system on offense and defense. We’ve been putting a lot of pressure on them, so now it’s time for us to learn how to win.”

West Feliciana (3-3, 3-1 in 6-4A) defeated St. Michael’s for the fourth straight year since both teams joined the district.
