Agartala, 10 th October 2025 : In a significant breakthrough following the dramatic jailbreak at Dharmanagar Sub-Jail, the North District Police have successfully arrested three of the six convicts who escaped custody on October 1. The incident took place on the morning of Navami during Durga Puja celebrations, has sparked widespread concern over jail security protocols.

The escape, reportedly caused by “extreme negligence of the jail police,” involved six inmates fleeing from the Kalikapur-based sub-jail. Acting swiftly, the North District Administration and Police launched an intensive search operation across the region. So far, Narayan Dutta, Abdul Pata, and Rahim Ali have been arrested.
