BEREA, Ohio (WKBN) - Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski announced on Friday that Shedeur Sanders will serve as backup quarterback to Dillon Gabriel for Sunday's game in Pittsburgh.
Sanders has been the third-team quarterback for Cleveland for all five games this season.
The former standout at Colorado was selected by the Browns in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
In two preseason games with Cleveland, Sanders completed 17-29 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns.
The only other quarterback on the roster is Bailey Zappe, who is currently on the team's practice squad.
The Browns and Steelers will kick off on Sunday at 1 p.m. on WKBN-27.
