Stefan Dennis has quit Strictly Come Dancing this week "due to illness".

In a statement shared on social media, the official Strictly page on Instagram wrote: "Due to illness over the past few days, Stefan Dennis has been advised to rest and, as a result, he will not dance this weekend."

The 66-year-old Neighbours actor and his professional dance partner Dianne Buswell will have an automatic pass for the following week's instalment of the BBC competition.

The statement continued: "In line with the rules of Strictly, Stefan and Dianne will receive a bye through to next week when they will hopefully be able to dance again."
