NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A man is in custody in connection to the Sept. 26 homicide in the 1500 block of North Claiborne Avenue.

Through the New Orleans Police Department investigation, detectives identified Aaron Christopher Bierria, 42, as the alleged suspect of the shooting that occurred in the 1500 block of North Claiborne Avenue. United States Marshals arrested him in Westwego this morning.

On Sept. 26 around 6:15 p.m., Bierria was arguing with another man and allegedly pulled out a weapon and fired a shot towards him, which killed him. Bierria fled the scene, according to the NOPD.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office later identified the victim as 42-year-old Damien Kendrick.
