Oct. 13 marks the federal holiday of Columbus Day, which is now also celebrated by some state and local governments as Indigenous Peoples Day.

Each year, the day is recognized in the U.S. on the second Monday of October.

Here’s a look at the offices that will be open and closed on Oct. 13 in Corpus Christi:

Corpus Christi, Nueces County and state offices

Texas does not recognize Columbus Day as a paid holiday, so state offices will stay open, along with the following departmental offices:

The Nueces County Tax Assessor/Collector’s office will be open.

City of Corpus Christi offices will stay open, and recycling and trash collection schedules will not change.

The Nueces County Courthouse and all county and district court offices will be open.
