The proposed Macquarie Point stadium will generate at least $220.9 million a year in economic activity for Tasmania, for an annual holding cost of $44.5 million to finance debt, the state's Coordinator-General says.

In a high-level analysis, John Perry acknowledges the project's estimated $1.13 billion cost and the state's $875 million share, including debt, but states that for each $1 the government pays in holding costs per year, there will be $4.97 in new economic activity.
