Westpac is returning to the New England town after a two-and-a-half year hiatus.

Realising their mistake at closing the branch in February 2023, the bank is flying chief executive Anthony Miller into the town for a grand re-opening on Monday, October 13.

The bank has even gone upmarket in its new premises, repainting and rebadging the former ANZ bank in Balo Street.

Westpac has hired two new bankers and is advertising for a home lender to join the team and service the town and its surrounds.
