New York Gov. Kathy Hochul vetoed a bill Thursday that sought to increase transparency when it comes to grocery delivery apps.
The legislation would've required grocery stores and those delivery platforms such as Instacart, Uber and DoorDash to clearly disclose whether their online prices match in-store prices —and, if not, whether they are higher or lower.
It went through a tumultous life in the state Legislature this session, as it had to be passed in the state Senate twice after stakeholder discussions resulted in significant changes to ensure passage in the Assembly.
