LEWISTON, Maine ( WMTW ) -- After nearly two years of work, a community art project honoring the victims of the Lewiston mass shootings is nearly complete.
The display represents the contributions of multiple community organizations, volunteers and families of victims.
"This took months because we work at the speed of trust in this project," said artist Traci Molloy.
Inside an Auburn barn turned art studio, Molloy leads a team assembling "Forget ME Not," a sculpture honoring the 18 lives lost on Oct. 25, 2023.
"You will walk in and see deep, deep blue on the bottom with fabric rising up to light, and then you get to the top of the piece where it sort of curves in, and those are going to be 96 images of mylar panels drawn by folks in the community
