Michigan State’s next recruiting class suffered the second blow of the week.
Braylon Hodge, a 2026 four-star linebacker from Cherry Creek High School in suburban Denver, announced his decommitment from the Spartans via social media on Friday. That followed four-star receiver Tyren Wortham backing off his verbal pledge on Monday .
Hodge, 6-foot-3 and 212 pounds, is listed as the No. 18 linebacker and No. 274 player overall in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports Composite, making him the highest-rated commit for the Spartans before leaving the group. After committing to Michigan State in June, his recruitment surged, including picking up offers from Michigan, Oregon, Texas and Missouri. He was in Ann Arbor last weekend and told 247Sports his next visit will be to Oregon.
