Gananoque marked a milestone in early childhood education this week with the official opening of the YMCA of Eastern Ontario child-care centre at 400 Stone Street South.
The centre, which welcomed its first 39 toddlers and preschoolers on Sept. 15, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday afternoon, drawing local officials and community members to celebrate the new facility.

The centre offers 15 spaces for toddlers and 24 for preschoolers aged 18 months to five years, operating Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Renovations of the former Kinsmen building transformed the space into a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for young learners.
The project is part of the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care system and the CWELCC Leeds and Grenville Direc
