A man who pleaded guilty to criminal harassment in a love triangle gone wrong avoided a conviction in Kitchener court on Friday, sparing him from possible immigration consequences.

The man, 32, began an affair with a co-worker in 2023, court was told. They often had FaceTime video chats where she was naked except for underwear.

He secretly recorded video of the chats.

His wife found out about the affair, Crown prosecutor Anita Etheridge previously told court. The man showed her the videos and gave her access to them.

She texted her husband’s lover multiple times, threatening to send the videos to the woman’s parents and co-workers unless she ended the affair. She attached the videos to prove she had them.
