City and county officials in Yuba County are responding to what is being described as "unprecedented" citations centered around the fatal shooting of Marysville Police Department Officer Osmar Rodarte earlier this year.

The City of Marysville on Friday acknowledged that the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) issued citations over Rodarte's line-of-duty death. He was part of a large-scale multi-county drug trafficking bust in March when he and another officer got into a shootout with a street-level drug dealer, later identified as 60-year-old Rick David Oliver.
