The two residents found dead in a North Kitsap home earlier this week died in a murder-suicide, according to the Kitsap County Medical Examiner's Office.

The 53-year-old woman has been identified as Marjorie Gaines and the 55-year-old male has been identified as Richard Gaines, both of Beach Drive.

Marjorie's manner of death was ruled as a homicide, whereas Richard's has been determined as suicide. Both died from a gunshot wound to the head.

The two were discovered by a family member Tuesday morning , in their home in a neighborhood north of Lofall along Hood Canal.
